Classes starting soon and other drivel

OK, as a friendly reminder to all of you who check my blog, Photography 101 classes will be starting soon. July 10th approaches faster than you would like and the class is almost full. It is pre-registration, so you might want to get in while you can. You need to contact Center Place at 685-8888. $75 for non-members and $65 for members, 4 – 2 hour classes on Monday nights from 7-9pm.

In other news, I will be posting this week progress on the shed. It seems that the 3 stooges had a sense of humor (duh!) and decided to NOT follow the instructions on putting together the shed. I am happy with the door being on the 8′ side – which is why I bought it – but it just so happens that the door was supposed to be on the 10′ side according to the instructions. So, we have to buy more materials and lop off other pieces to make it all work. It is somewhat in disarray right now and the center is not centered. But I think it may be able to withstand a slight breeze. My father is coming out to survey the carcass today and see what kind of remedies we can take to mend this shed. My family did a great deed by coming out to put it together. But what happens when you give 3 old guys a kit and directions? Just like not stopping on a long trip to ask which road is the right road. Gotta love them!

Bellies

There’s one fun thing about my photography business, and that is certainly my clients. I have been blessed with some of the most wonderful people who have hired me to to capture some of the most treasured moments in their lives. What could be as exciting as getting married? Your first baby of course. Having had two of my own, I know how amazing it is to have this little miracle given to you.

My clients Barbie and Hubbell are just those types of clients. What a joy you guys were to work with. I have posted one that stood out to me so far. Enjoy!

New Wedding Posted

Thank you for checking in. I just uploaded Joy’L and Adam’s wedding photos. This wedding was held at Holy Cross church in Palmetto and the reception was at The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort on Longboat Key. What a beautiful venue! The sunset was perfect and the weather couldn’t be better. I hope to come back to the resort for a little R&R!

Here are a few of my favorites!

The Kiss! (of course)

Some time to write

OK, so the blog site is now LIVE!

I wanted to thank all of my clients, past and present as well as the new influx of clients. Thank you to my family for being so patient while I spend half the days on the computer.

In these pages, you will get a chance to see not only what is happening in my photography career, but with some aspects of my personal life and my art. Check back often. There will be sneak peeks for current clients, fun images and maybe even some “Becky-isms” as Nina calls them.

Nina Costine is my Marketing and Booking manager. So please feel free to contact her at nina@beckyjohnsonstudios.com for information on bookings or for media contact. Dave Sammon and Trina Loper are both my assistants and 2nd photographers. I also want to say thank you to all of the brides who somehow found their way to my site via “The Knot”. Because of you, I have found some value in advertising there, so as of June 20th, I will officially be a Knot Advertiser! Mention that you found me via theknot.com and if you book me, you will receive an 11×14 of your choice of wedding images – no charge!

I will have some great links for you and I love to share information, so please send any questions you may have. I might even post the questions and answers to share with others.

Thanks again and happy blogging! Here’s the first image I will open with!
