The Baptism of Ariana

I have known half of this family for over 20 years. Not that we kept in touch all of those years, but the grandmother of this little lady whom I am photographing, used to take care of me and my sister after school. We would play with her daughter (now Ariana’s mom) and we all 3 grew up in the same neighborhood.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of witnessing Ariana’s Baptism. A delightful toddler full of spunk and curiosity, she couldn’t sit still while the priest went through his service. Family kept her wrangled as we waited. Thanks Jim and April for making me a part of this day. And dinner at Grandma’s and Grandpa’s was spectacular! How wonderful to sit around a table of familiar faces and enjoy the day’s dinner while talking about old stories.

Another Weekend at the Beach

So what else do you do if you have lived in Florida all of your life? You go to the beach, of course! I got a wild hair and decided to tromp off to Bradenton Beach with the kids in tow. We stayed overnight at the Silver Surf. I would rate it as a 6 on a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst and 10 being the best overall). I want to say that next time we decide to stay overnight, I will be trying the Bungalow Beach Resort instead. Not only do they look a lot cleaner, but they are situated directly on the beach as opposed to having to cross a 2 lane road. And with two kids, that can be a feat in itself. Yes, we only live 40 minutes from this wonderful beach (which my parents had taken me to practically all of my younger years), but if you can catch the early morning or late evening sun, you get wonderful images like these:
