Thank you Jennifer and Chris for making my day so memorable. Starbucks to start and Carmine’s devil crabs to end, I hope you guys had fun in between! Though I still have the finals to complete, here are a few to tide you over! Enjoy!

Many of you know how I am just starting out in trying to make some kind of difference regarding our future (and present) ecology. I was fortunate to be introduced to Carlton Ward Jr. today who has been working at changing things and using his photography to help make a difference. Carlton was born and raised in Clearwater and even after having been offered an ongoing position with the Smithsonian, he decided to come back home and make a difference in Florida. He had a chance to talk today with some folks about our water crisis and water conservation. He also shared some wonderful images documenting the cattle ranchers here in Florida. Apparently, the Florida cattle ranchers do it right and actually help aid the ecosystem instead of destroy it. Hopefully soon through a mutual acquaintance, I will get a chance to document Carlton documenting the Alafia – a little river that happens to be right up the street from my home. Please have a look at Carlton’s website for some compelling documentary of African wildlife and cultures from near and far.
Carlton’s organization LINC (Legacy Institute for Nature & Culture) will be hosting a talk at the Tampa Theater on April 10th between 6pm and 9pm called “Florida’s Living Heritage: The Nature and Culture of Cracker Ranchlands” . I would love for you guys to attend if you can, I will be there as well as some other supporters. Here is an image of Carlton right before his interview today:
