Congrats M & B!!

What a sweet family! I have obviously been to MANY weddings and I stopped tearing up awhile ago. My weddings are endearing and beautiful – and this couple’s vow’s tugged on my heart strings. So, for the first time in years, I actually got a little sappy! I had to put my shades on, because of course, photographers don’t cry at weddings!!! Thank you both for a sweet and memorable event!

Location – Lange Farm, Dade City

Karen + Matt = SUHWEET!

Soooo, introducing Karen & Matt. Go figure that over 20 years ago (yike, am I tellin’ my age?), that Karen’s mom was my 10th grade English Honors teacher. And that through a series of events, I would be photographing her wedding… how funny is life? These two wonderful folks are also teachers – what a great way to give.

Here is my first contribution to their happily ever after!

So why hire Becky Johnson Studios .com Inc.?

I thought it was about time I talk about the value of hiring a professional photographer – just a little PSA on a Sunday afternoon!

Given this digital age, there are so many folks out there jumping on the photography bandwagon, wanting to make some easy side-job money, work a few extra weekends a month and make some extra cash. There are many retail places out there, in the mall and retail stores that you could easily choose. Most of these options are low cost in the initial phase (no sitting fees, low-priced wedding packages, etc.) But where and when does it cost you?

The benefits of having a long-time standing, professional photographer be the memory keeper for you and your loved ones outweighs any immediate monetary values. The list of these types of services are priceless:

> One-on-one, anytime with the actual person who photographs you.

> A pro who understands the value of your memories and can guide you in the right direction with any facet of your photographic needs – from picking out the right clothes, to ordering the right prints for your home, long term storage decisions, in-home services, location ability – and so much more.

> Customized services, tailored to your needs – a friend in the photographic world.

> Unparalleled quality in products and choices of products.

> Trust. There is no better gauge than how long a photographer has been in business, their business “rating” and a list of references that can be called on at anytime. Testimonials are a great way to see what actual clients have to say.

> Attention to detail and dedication to the art – sure, it takes a bit longer for a smaller company to edit your images, fulfill print orders – but as the old adage says, good things come to those who wait! The sign of a true artist who cares about their craft, is one who won’t let it go “out the door” until it is ready.

> A photographer and business who is licensed, insured and qualified. As a member of PPA, our studio stays on top of current market trends, is insured with Malpractice Insurance and affords continuing education through seminars and webinars. We also maintain Liability and Equipment Insurance, have back-ups of the back-ups, maintains quality assurance of your image files through varying media, owns and operates a professional photography forum on-line, continuously reinvests in our business with the most up-to-date equipment and software and we do not outsource any edits or design. Every facet of our company sits at the helm everyday!

>Personal service. I like my clients. I know you by name. I know your kid’s names and most of your immediate family. I talk to you more than a few times a year. So when you need something – I understand your needs and I can cater to what you like. I know your preferences. I am a family oriented business and I understand your family.

These are just a few reasons why it benefits you to hire our studio. What’s there to think about? :)

Thanks S. & S. for a freaking fun session…

You guys were a RIOT! S. & S. drove over Sunday for a fab-o engagement session… we will have the pleasure of spending 4 fantastic days with them in the Virgin Islands for their wedding this June. Here are just a few from the shoot – it was SO hard to narrow them down to a hand full and there are SO many more to process!!

This was hilarious Mr. S. was actually yelling at the statue and had me laughing so hard tears were coming out of my eyes!

Is this headline great or what??

And finally, after much contemplation, this is how S. & S. decided we would get to St. Croix…

Trash the Dress! 2008

This was really my first ever Trash the Dress. Now, let me explain this. Trash the Dress does not really mean that you literally have to “trash your dress” (though some folks take it to that extreme!). It simply means that after your wedding day, I take you out on an excursion while you wear your dress one last time. We photograph you in places and doing things that you normally would not do or feel free to do in your dress. This session was with one of my February brides – Diana. She plays soccer outside of being a teacher, and wanted to take it to the soccer field!!

If you have an upcoming wedding with me, please consider doing this – they are SO much fun!
