Well, I am not so sure, but I guess I’m good enough to hop on the gravy train of www.photographik.org a wonderful compilation of elite photographers spanning around the globe. I submitted – and waited. And got my answer a week or so ago. Yay me!
There are many wonderful photographers there that I get to share good company with, and I am hoping some more from Tampa get on board! Basically, you must register with the site and if they review your website and work, and think you can hang with the big boys (and boy are there some big boys on the site!), you can belong to their elite directory of worldwide photographers. If you take a visit under the Wedding Photographers, you will find me listed in Florida and soon under Destinations (yes, in case you did not know, I travel!).
Thanks photographik!

Congrats to Stephanie & David on a beautiful June, Friday the 13th wedding! It started out a very wet and rainy day, but rain on your wedding is certainly good luck! And what a wonderful couple! Here are a few from their wedding day and a session on Sand Key beach the day after…
Location: Palm Harbor White Chapel & Sand Key Beach

So, we made it back safely from the islands, St. Croix to be exact. Though a beautiful place to visit, I am happy to be back home! We met some cool people, made a few new friends, as Dorothy says, “There’s no place like home!”. The first absolutely cool, person we easily befriended was Anna, seen here with Savanna:

Anna runs www.gotostcroix.com , a cool little place on the web that anyone should visit when trying to plan a trip or a wedding on the island! And a few more of them as we sat and ate breakfast on the first morning of our arrival:

Here was the view from our resort room at the Divi Carina:

And CONGRATS to Shannon & Solomon!!!! They had a blast and we spent some amount of time every day photographing them on the island. With SO much to photograph, it was a blast. Thank you both for the fabulous opportunity!

We are still in St. Croix and have many tales to tell! I thought I would make at least one post while we are here, so this happens to be a personal one! We are loving this little island, so tucked away from too much of the commercialization. The folks are kind and cordial – it is customary to tell people you pass, Good Morning, Good Afternoon or Good Evening. There are some things that I have learned here:
Dreads do not go out of style.
Island time is anytime.
It’s ok to drink and drive as long as you are not drunk. Just wear your seatbelt and carry your beer in a coozie.
Who needs an alarm?
If you get lost, it’s just ONE BIG CIRCLE.
Do not swim at night unless you want to play with tarpon.
No, the speed limit isn’t necessarily 30mph.
Here are a few pics to share:
St. Croix is the home to Cruzan Rum, and this wall of liquor in KMart put our liquor stores to shame…

The steel band played while we ate brunch!

Whatever you do, DO NOT drink Planters Punch w/a Black Strap floater…

Brunch mon:

Mack daddy 6-7 pound lobster just brought in. He was a spectacle, to say the least.

We are about to head out to St. Croix for Shannon & Solomon’s wedding, so I thought I would get some practice in with some new fabrics and my handy ring light adapter. We drove out to Ft. Desoto yesterday and Erica, my wonderful model, was most obliging. The tide was low, so we had to trek through muck and near misses in the jellyfish minefield.
