I am really never satisfied about what I see others writing about themselves – why or how I became to love photography. Yes, it’s started with a camera from my dad – but not really. I really had no interest in cameras in the beginning – I just knew my dad dumped a ton of money into Olympus gear in the ’80’s as well as other tech gadgets like VCR’s, pong and Texas Instrument computers. And he took WAY too many macro shots of my eyeball and lizards in our water fountain out front. You could say my dad was a bit obsessed. Just a bit.
I adopted a few pieces of his gear because I wanted to be on yearbook staff in high school it seemed the perks were a few, but it got me off campus. After graduation and when I finally figured out that photography was “my thing”, I took my dad’s gear though he kind of expected it to make a return. I returned it years later, because the shutter had gone kaput. Sorry dad, back then, things were tight! That ended my journey although very temporarily. A husband, a house and a kid later, I was finally able to afford purchasing my own equipment and after months of research, I picked the Canon camp. Ok, so all you Nikon people can hurl your lenses at me now… Canon IS better….
My guilty pleasure is living vicariously through my lens, so step up and let’s make it happen!
